Trip Itinerary
Day 1
ARRIVAL AT ATHENS AIRPORT - Transfer to the hotel - Free afternoon. Optional city walk to experience the nightlife of Athens. Overnight at the hotel in Athens.
Day 2
PANORAMIC TOUR OF THE CITY OF ATHENS. Visit the archaeological site of the Acropolis (Parthenon) to admire the masterpieces of the Golden Age, the Propylaea, the Temple of Athena Nike, the Parthenon and the Erechtheion. Panoramic tour of the city - you will discover the center of the city, the Constitution Square (Syntagma), the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, the Parliament and the neo-classical buildings of Panepistimiou Avenue (Academy, University and National Library). You will also see the Gate of Hadrian, the Temple of the god Zeus Olympian and the Panathenaic stadium by making a brief stop for photo. Free time for lunch in a local tavern Then you will visit the new Acropolis Museum where you will admire the impressive sculptures that decorated the temple of Athena Nike, the Erechtheion (with its Caryatids) and the Parthenon. Overnight in Athens.
Day 3
FREE DAY OR ONE DAY CRUISE (OPTIONAL) After a delicious breakfast, free day OR One day Cruise (optional) Departure from the hotel in the morning with a guide towards the port of Piraeus. The ship sails at 08:00 am for the islands of the Saronic Gulf. Free to visit each island. Aegina: the biggest island of the Saronic Gulf. Two major attractions to visit in Aegina are (note: Optional tours organized on board the ship): The monastery of Aghios Nektarios, who was the last declared saint by the Greek Orthodox Church and the Temple of Aphaia, the second best-preserved temple in Greece after the Parthenon in Athens. Poros is the smallest of the three islands, full of pine trees and lemon trees, where you are going to have a nice walk and enjoy the great scenery. Hydra: One of the most cosmopolitan and picturesque Greek islands, with unique architecture, narrow streets and many shops.
Day 4-7
FREE DAYS AT ATHENS RIVIERA Athens has some stunning beaches locally. If you’re looking for a calm and quiet beach visit the private beaches found southeast of Athens in Glyfada. Here you may have to pay for access but a visit to the unspoiled coves is worth the charge. To the northeast of Athens, the beaches are more alive with locals and tourists, you will be part of the buzzing holiday atmosphere! The best way to discover the beaches surrounding Athens is to hop on a bus and get off when you see a beach that takes your fancy.
Day 8
DEPARTURE. Breakfast - Depending on the flight schedule, transfer from Athens airport.
